Aquavelis Water Park (Torre del Mar)
The water park of the Axarquía region, in Torre del Mar. The best option of its kind if…
The water park of Mijas Costa. Smaller and easier to handle than Aqualand, and a very comfortable choice with young children. Handy from Fuengirola and Marbella.
Opening hours: Roughly June to September, 10:30–18:00, with extended hours in July and August. Check the official calendar: dates vary each year.
Aquamijas is the water park of the central Costa del Sol: smaller than Aqualand but also far more manageable, which counts for a lot with young children. It sits in Mijas Costa, between Fuengirola and La Cala, and it’s the obvious choice if you’re staying along this stretch of coast.
It’s in Mijas Costa, reached from the A-7 (old N-340) at the Fuengirola–Mijas stretch. It has on-site parking. By public transport, take Cercanías C-1 to Fuengirola and then a bus or taxi (about 10 minutes).
Three reasons: shorter queues, less walking inside the park and, usually, a slightly lower price. If your children are under ten and you don’t need the most extreme slides, the day works out better here. If you’re after big-drop thrills, Aqualand is the bigger park.
As with any water park: arrive at opening, buy online, use high-factor sun cream and a rash vest for the children, and bring water shoes. In August, grabbing a shaded spot the moment you arrive makes all the difference.
Open roughly from June to September, with extended hours at the height of summer. Check the official calendar before setting off, as opening dates shift from year to year.
