Carvajal has one advantage almost no other beach on the Costa del Sol can match: a train station fifty metres from the sand. The C-1 Cercanías line from Málaga stops here, which means you can arrive from the airport or from central Málaga with no car, no parking and no fuss.
Getting there
By Cercanías train (line C-1, Málaga – Fuengirola), Carvajal station. Trains run every 20 minutes; the journey takes about 40 minutes from Málaga María Zambrano and 30 from the airport. By car, take the A-7 exit for Carvajal-Torreblanca; there is limited free street parking and paid parking nearby.

No car, no problem
This is the beach we recommend to anyone travelling without a car. Land at Málaga airport, take the Cercanías from the terminal itself, and half an hour later your feet are in the water. Getting back is just as easy. For a short break or a beach day out from Málaga city, there is no better option in the province.
What the beach is like
Around 1,200 metres of dark, coarse sand, with breakwaters, a gradual entry into the water and calm conditions. It is well maintained and holds a Blue Flag. It gets busy in July and August, which is only logical given how easy it is to reach.
What’s nearby
The Fuengirola promenade — seven continuous kilometres — links Carvajal with the town centre, Sohail Castle and the marina. Fifteen minutes’ walk away is Bioparc Fuengirola, one of the best immersion zoos in Europe and an essential day out with children.
