Chilches is the second-to-last beach before you cross into Rincón de la Victoria coming from Torre del Mar. A small village, a long beach, and one unwritten rule: people come here to eat and to be, not to be seen.
Getting there
Along the N-340 at around kilometre 262, or from the A-7 taking the Chilches exit. Free surface parking beside the beach and on the village streets. Intercity bus stop on the main road.

What it’s like
Around 1,700 metres of dark sand with gravel in places, a gradual entry into the water and generally moderate waves. It’s a wide beach, which helps it never feel cramped. Occupancy is low outside July and August, and moderate at the height of summer.
Atmosphere
Chilches has a very stable resident and second-home population, with families who have been coming here all their lives. That translates into beach bars working for regulars and prices more contained than along the Torremolinos–Marbella axis. The espeto still rules.
When to come
June to September for swimming. In spring and autumn it’s a good stretch for walking: the Gran Senda de Málaga (GR-249) runs along this coastline and links Chilches with Benajarafe and Rincón de la Victoria on a coastal path.
